The
attorneys at Bloch & Chapleau have extensive experience handling
criminal matters, from pre-arrest to trial, to appeal. We represent
clients in all criminal matters including sexual assaults, drugs
charges, DUIs, murder and domestic violence. Because every case and
client is unique, the attorneys at our firm use their expertise and
experience to approach cases in a “team manner" if necessary. As part of
our team, we have three attorneys that defend clients in criminal
matters.
Domestic
Violence and Assault Domestic Violence cases are prosecuted in a very serious manner
in the state of Colorado. If a person is charged and found guilty or
plead guilty to any type of domestic violence charge, you may lose many
of your constitutional rights, including the right to bear arms and the
right to vote. Also, there can be long lasting and devastating effects
on your rights to parent your children. Although we cannot guarantee the
outcome of any case, our attorneys have the skills and experience to
represent you and obtain results that you will be happy with.
Felonies We handle all manner of felony crimes on the local, state, and
federal level. Felony cases range in seriousness from first-degree
through sixth-degree. The lower the number, the more serious the
offense. A felony conviction can result in loss of constitutional
rights, restrictions on employment, and a prison sentence.
These cases are always handled with the
utmost seriousness and although we cannot guarantee the outcome of any
case, our "team approach" to handling these cases has led to great
success in the past.
Misdemeanors Misdemeanors in Colorado and elsewhere include crimes such as
harassment, third degree assault, criminal mischief, telephone
obstruction, assault and battery, domestic violence, possession of
marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, or theft. Misdemeanor
charges may result from a moment of bad judgment or an accident of
circumstances. While the consequences are typically less than a felony
conviction, they can still follow you for life, and it is important that
you assert all of your rights.
DUI The Colorado legislature and police have steadily cracked down
on driving under the influence or ("DUI") as well as driving while
ability impaired ("DWAI") cases. In July of 2004, a new law lowered the
legal alcohol limit and implemented mandatory jail time for drinking and
driving offenses. Although we cannot guarantee the outcome of any case,
our attorneys have been involved in handling hundreds of DUI cases and
will do everything in their power to obtain the best results for you.
Drug Offenses Our attorneys routinely handle drug cases, from simple marijuana
tickets to drug trafficking and possession of controlled substances
charges. Drug cases can be very complex because of laws that have
special sentencing and fines. Although we cannot guarantee the outcome
of any case, our attorneys are skilled at navigating through drug court
proceedings and achieving good results.
Sexual Offenses The attorneys at Bloch & Chapleau are experienced in
representing those accused of sexual offenses, and have helped their
clients navigate the maze of consequences that result of one being
charged with a sex offense, including obtaining appropriate treatment
and counseling to achieve the best result possible for their clients.
